The MacMedic: A special tenth birthday: "Since she was very young her favorite musician has been Craig Taubman. A couple of weeks ago when I had taken her to the children medical center for her appointment we passed a sign advertising a concert being put on by Taubman on October 3rd, today, her birthday. What could her mother and I do except to arrange to get tickets.
So this afternoon we took her to the concert. The concert was part of celebration/kickoff of a fundraising campaign for the local Jewish Federation so there were the expected displays from the organizations that receive support from the Federation and various activities for the kids.
This was actually the second time we had tried to take her to one of his concerts. The previous time was a couple of years ago, she was looking forward to it quite a bit and was devestated when Taubman got sick and had to cancel the concert. We had written him a letter and he had agreed to meet with us before the concert. One of the only ways we found to make her feel better was helping her to write a letter to Taubman telling him that she wanted him to get better soon and how much his music meant to her. He sent back a handwritten note thanking her for her letter.
When we arrived it was still well before the concert was supposed to start..."
What could be better for a huge fan than this?? Up close and personal with her favorite musician. What a tenth birthday!
